The Planet Is Our First Home

The planet is our first home. We invest energy, cash and time designing our homes. In turning a house into a home we want nothing but the best of everything from furnishings, utensils to decorations. If we spend so much effort converting a house into a home shouldn't we exert the same amount if not more to preserving our first home, our planet? We only have one planet to live on, it cannot be supplanted like our houses.
A study conducted by the United Nations which involved 1,203 scientists, shows that the degradation of the world's natural resources by humans is rapidly outpacing the planet's ability to absorb the damage. The rate of dilapidation is increasing globally at an alarming rate. Despite efforts to persuade governments to take measures to improve the condition of our natural resources such as water, land and the seas. As individuals we have the power to make small but good changes at home, at work and in our community.
So where do we begin? We begin one step at a time, take the time to enquire about brands that care about the planet. Make intentional choices to utilise products that are eco-friendly for use at home and know your materials by consistently checking the labels. It's the little things that matter everyday.
